According to him, Gda\u0144sk remains the biggest port in the eastern Baltic Sea region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>St Petersburg saw an 85-percent drop in container throughput compared to 2021, Bloomberg&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/newsletters\/2022-11-08\/supply-chain-latest-how-war-is-rerouting-russia-s-trade-lanes\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reported<\/a>&nbsp;in November last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere are barely any containers arriving at Russia\u2019s formerly busiest port,\u201d Vincent Stamer, a researcher at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, told Bloomberg. \u201cThat\u2019s because St Petersburg is so exposed to European trade.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the port\u2019s CEO Latakas, Klaip\u0117da has seen a sharp decrease in fertilizer exports due to sanctions on Belarusian exports which were shipped via the Baltic port. However, the drop was balanced by a growth in container and natural gas shipments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the port also saw a change in its import-export ratio.
